Songs like “Chimeric Visions,” “Crossing the Rubicon,” and “The Blacksmith's Lament” have a heavy NWOBHM influence (check out the Maiden gallop on “Rubicon”), but with a straightforward groove that's more akin to your average hard rock band. Elsewhere, “The Damnation of the High Wizard” and “Beast of England” take a more Sabbath approach, slowing it down and dooming it up. The latter's the best song; it's epic and heavy and just plain massive, sort of like what you'd hear when giants fought to the death. The above tracks are enough to make this appealing to fans of the mighty Orange Goblin, Blood Island Raiders, and other UK-based bands.

March Forth to Victory is a really impressive debut album chock full of crunching riffs that gallop along ferociously, constantly evolving and gaining tension in a style that brings to mind bands such as Deep Purple, Kyuss and even Mastodon. The lyrics are all a little tongue in cheek but they work brilliantly with the music. The highlight of the album comes in the form of "Beast Of England", a truly epic 8-minute blinder that begins with some of the heaviest, fastest riffing on the album and transforms into the slowest, doom-laden, droning riffs around.
