"This 2008 re-release, restored and re-mastered by vocalist Eli Brown, is an absolute must-have for fans of heavy music. The rhythmic grooves, blazin’ guitars, and bluesy vocals are immaculate, to say nothing of the guitar tones. I may be prone to hyperbole (in fact, I am), but I promise I’m not exaggerating when I say this album is perfect."
"This album is like being on the set of the original “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” only it’s real and not a movie. Yeah, it’s like being there, in that atmosphere listening to both the first Saint Vitus album and Hairy Chapter’s “Can’t Get Through” with Paul Chain sitting at the mixing desk. You’ve got Eli’s haunting, pained vocals that speak of a man in desperation. You’ve got the guitar of Dave Depraved that, at once, will crush like lead and yet paint with so much improvisational emotion as to be another voice. And, of course, you have songs. You couldn’t ask for any more. Unless, of course, it’s the gorgeous re-mastering job, expanding the cavernous production and making the whole thing sound like it was recorded in some demonic cathedral. Bottom line? Anyone who thinks they know “doom” and doesn’t have this in their collection is sadly mistaken and may end up like the girl in the insert picture."
"Coupled with the visuals, the entire 69-minute duration gives one a feeling of unease, even as you are enjoying every second of hot devil blues and BLACK SABBATH-rooted stoner jams. It's trance-inducing. That rolling groove and macabre vibe gets under your skin, a quality consistent throughout the album. Fluid and organic, the style is one birthed from what was clearly a labor of love. Reissues work best when a previously hidden gem is unearthed. Such is the case with the BLOOD FARMERS debut offering, a fine representation of underground doom and stoner rock jams that may even appeal to more than just the diehards. You just don't hear albums like this one very often these days."
